What is Direct Primary Care? 

Compared to traditional primary care, where care is driven by insurance demands on clinician productivity, direct primary care (DPC) provides you with better access and flexible scheduling for visits and procedures with your clinician. Unlike traditional medical insurance, you do not have to make a co-payment for each visit. Instead, you pay an affordablre monthly membership fee (typically less than $75/month) that is significantly lower than the high premiums charged by traditional insurance companies (typically at least $500-800/month). With traditional insurance plans, you are often saddled by a huge annual deductible of $4,000 or even $6,000-8,000 before benefits kick in.

Moreover, Monroe Center's direct primary care plan is superior to plans offered by practitioners based out of a primary care office because we are part of a full-service urgent care center (Monroe Urgent Care). This means the clinic is open to you, our valuable client, 7 days a week. Our center is located in a safe and friendly location in Monroe, Ohio. During influenza season, we utilize a separate entrance to protect our well-visit clients from sick patients. The clinic has x-ray imaging and state-of-the-art PCR and rapid testing platforms to test for COVID, influenza and other diseases. We have the ability to do joint immobilization for broken bones, incision and drainage for abscesses or infected toe, as well as laceration repair for simple cuts. In short, we will do our best to keep you away from the Emergency Room.

As a DPC client, you are entitled to a comprehensive annual physical examination, which includes a complementary set of basic blood work (lipid panel, metabolic panel) as well as a screening electocardiogram (ECG) for those over the age of 35. We will manage your medications and be in communication with your specialists to coordinate your medical care.
